The center's head, a former Amazon UK boss, confirmed that multiple research initiatives at the center employing hundreds have been terminated, transferred out or completed because they do not align with the new direction.

Workplace Issues

The institute has faced organizational challenges since last year as staff protested against changes, culminating in a team of staff members submitting a formal grievance to the proper supervisory commission.

The center's administration stated that these employee allegations were externally examined by a neutral third party that found them to have lack merit.

Expanded Research Focus
