Soccer Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game winning streak came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international hiatus, however will the Premier League frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of special visitors.

In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' new album, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Life

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.

"{I actually played in a benefit game the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I will not force football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday football side," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be quite close, however. Burnley are well organised and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple games - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' only on the road win this season came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can West Ham extending their run under their manager, or the home side responding?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are doing well but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four games.

A family member told me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much success on the road this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

They have got lots of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

Their performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not witnessed anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing would be to back the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the close of October.

But I am not do that. Instead, I really need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive results because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be extremely eager for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
