Manchester City's manager Voices Remorse Over Broadcast Crew Altercation Following Defeat to Newcastle

Pep Guardiola has admitted feeling "shame" following a confrontation with a camera operator subsequent to Manchester City's 2-1 defeat away to the Magpies this past weekend.

When the match concluded, an emotional Guardiola stepped onto the field and engaged in intense talks with the referee, Sam Barrott and Magpies midfielder Bruno Guimarães, while also handling the headphones of the camera operator.

On the subject of his talk with Guimarães, the coach explained: "We have known Bruno for many years and every time after the game, even at the Etihad, we talk in the tunnel. He wouldn't mind should a rival coach spoke to his players right after the final whistle. "Not if you talk with respect like I always have done, it’s not a problem," he said, before referencing Barrott. "The referee was involved for 95 minutes, 98 minutes, he was involved. Goodness, very much so."

City were unhappy that the officials did not award City a penalty on a Schär tackle against Foden, while they also questioned if Guimarães was offside on Barnes' goal Newcastle’s 70th-minute winner. Subsequent images indicate the Brazilian was onside.
