Manchester City 3-0 Man United: Lauren Hemp on target in City dominant win.

Much like the recent storm hit the northwest the prior day, the home side swept United away at the their home ground. It was a emphatic 3-0 win for Andrée Jeglertz’s side due to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a result that truly announced their leadership claims as they strengthened their place at the WSL pinnacle.

This scoreline signalled back-to-back Women's Super League defeats for Marc Skinner’s side for the maiden instance since May 2024, leaving them a sizable gap off the table toppers with their title hopes hanging by a thread.

Manchester United's capability to manage domestic and continental football with a small roster has been a widely debated issue since they secured entry to the UCL. Reviewing the calendar, it always felt like this was the period that would seriously challenge this capability.
